Organized Crime Consulting Group Launches
BEVERLY HILLS, CA (January 31, 2011) -- For the first time in history, Hollywood has a one-stop shop for organized crime consulting services. True Crime Consultants, LLC (“TCC”) announced today that it’s open for business to the entertainment industry. Co-owner Kenji Gallo, a notorious former top mobster and federally-protected witness, explained his new company’s focus: “We will provide realistic information, training and expertise on modern organized crime in the U.S. and around the world.” While Gallo admits he’s a fan of The Sopranos (and similar films and TV shows), he notes that Hollywood rarely captures how real-life modern-day mobsters and other high-level criminals think, speak and act.
Gallo, who is half-Japanese and half-Italian, believes his colorful past should dispel any doubt regarding his expertise. In 1986 he embarked on a 20-year criminal odyssey. According to Gallo, after trafficking cocaine for the Medellin Cartel, he graduated to pornography and ultimately became a high-level mafioso working directly with the “street boss” of one of New York’s Five Mafia Families. For the last eight of those years, Gallo wore a wire for the FBI even as he participated in increasingly sophisticated crimes, including Wall Street “pump & dump” schemes.
During his two-decade criminal career, Gallo dealt extensively with organized crime groups from many different ethnic groups around the world, including outlaw biker gangs in the U.S. and Canada, Eastern Bloc crime groups, Yakuza clans, Chinese Triad organizations, and Mexican prison “shot-callers”.
Gallo claims he is the only Asian-American in U.S. history to rise to the top of the New York Mafia. He is the subject of a recently-published autobiography, Breakshot: A Life In The 21st Century Mafia (Simon & Schuster mass-market paperback, 2010). Gallo was also featured in documentaries on The Discovery Channel (Flipped: A Mobster Tells All) and the History Channel (the forthcoming Just the Facts). Gallo said he regularly lectures to federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, including on the difference between what’s portrayed on screen and what actually happens in real life-and-death situations involving mobsters. "Watching too much TV can get you killed," he laughed.
TCC will also provide other “extreme lifestyle” consultants, including Mixed Martial Arts/Ultimate Fighting Championship fighters; attorneys in every practice area; unique law enforcement contacts; and high-level “bad guys” of every background who can intelligently articulate their lives “on the street”.
